The Governors of Ripley St. John’s CE Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a visionary and inspirational Early Years Class Teacher who will join an experienced team. We pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming school, with a true Christian ethos, putting the children at the heart of our decision-making, striving to ensure we are ‘the best that we can be.’

This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers, as well as established teaching staff. We are hopeful for a September start date, however, for the right candidate, an October start date may be possible.

The post is advertised as Fixed Term, but there is a view for the role to become permanent in the future.

We are a family-feel, two form-entry primary school located in Amber Valley, Derbyshire, with 365 pupils on roll.

Our new Class Teacher will:

  • be caring, approachable and willing to go the extra mile to improve educational outcomes for all children.
  • be an individual who can effectively contribute to the school life, supporting the strategic direction and vision of the school.
  • be innovative in subject leadership, curriculum design and implementation, monitoring and evaluating for impact.
  • demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and inclusion as well as understanding, awareness and empathy for all.
  • be dedicated to raise teaching and learning standards across the board and have high aspirations for yourself and the whole school community.
  • be a motivator who can encourage both staff and children, fostering a positive and productive school environment.
  • be a role model; demonstrating excellence and innovation in practice.
  • possess boundless energy and have the ability to inspire confidence when making management and organisational decisions.

In return, Ripley St. John’s offers:

  • A welcoming and friendly environment, made up of a hard-working, supportive and experienced team who strive to deliver innovation and excellence for all children.
  • Dedicated and supportive governors who share in the school’s vision for success.
  • Marvellous children who are passionate about learning and take pride in everything they do.
  • A supportive parent community that shares in the school’s initiatives.
  • Extensive opportunities for ongoing professional development, tailored to individual needs.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please telephone the School Office, on 01773 742457, asking for Katie Reaney, our School Business Officer, to arrange an appointment to visit the school.

Provisional Interview Date: Tuesday 25 June 2024.
